It begins life as a near colorless sketch before maturing to a black and white drawing, before entering adulthood with full color.

That linework is superb, great job! As for the current version, I suggest working some cools into those shady areas of the pinecone like you did with the cast shadow. If you already have, I would suggest adding a little more to bring out some dynamic lighting.

Nice, solid work. Your value range is is spot on.
